University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Research Scientist (Sept 2022 – Present)
Developing in situ analysis tool, expanding its functionalities, engaging more users, and integrating other tools (e.g., Jupyter) into the library. Rebuilding scientific Python workflows and visualizing them. Finding an analyzing the dependency graphs.
Education
National Taiwan University, MS in Physics (Sept 2019 – July 2022)
I’ve been working on astrophysics simulation, analyzing vortices using Python, visualizing wave dark matter vortices using ParaView and VR headset, and working on developing in situ analysis and applying to simulations.
National Taiwan University, BS in Physics (Sept 2015 – June 2019)
I spent lots of time practicing badminton and doing some hardware level stuff, like playing with Arduino, Android, STM32F4, RaspberryPi. We used Arduino to construct a device that measures the curvature of a metal by the law of relection, and then we used Python and VPython to reconstruct the surface. I also earned a minor degree in mathematics.
Projects and Talks
libyt
libyt is an open source C library for simulation, that allows researchers to analyze and visualize data using yt or other Python packages in parallel during simulation runtime. In this way, we can skip the step of writing data to local hard disk before doing analysis using Python. It also supports some interactive entry points like a Python prompt and Jupyter Notebook. This greatly reduce the disk usage, and increase the temporal resolution.

YesWorkflow and YesWorkflow Jupyter Extension
Meng, Tim, and I are working on using LLM and Python AST to analyze Python code and document their workflows. Later, we will visualize it in a Jupyter extension.
